White flight created West Broad Village, and all of Short Pump. From a development point of view, new construction is easier than urban rehab, and, God knows, most developers have sworn off beating their heads against the City of Richmond (except the Redskins, but they have enough money). Would have been nice if some of this density could have been within City limits, where it's supposed to be, instead of fabricating a (mostly) monolithic faux urban in the pasture lands. Good article.

Oh, no, hell no. No. Just no. VCU should not be messing with Sally Bells, ferpetesake, that's not cool. Although would be swell to have them in Carytown, blessedly VCU-free (so far).
