Wow, Theatrelover, that type of generalization makes me really uncomfortable. I'd like to see that research--can you give me a reference?
I, Susie Haubenstock, do resolve that I will suspend my activities as an audience member, donor, supporter, and enthusiastic promoter of the Firehouse Theatre Project until I am assured by the Firehouse Theatre Project's founders that FTP's leadership crisis has ended to the founder's satisfaction and that their vision of its mission will be maintained. I entreat all artists, technicians, students, patrons, supporters of and contributors to the artistic and cultural enrichment of the greater Richmond community to join with us by making similar public pledges.
I introduced Eileen Mitchard of "Breast in Show" to Carol Piersol, and I was thoroughly gratified by Carol's enthusiastic embrace of my friend's show, the result of Eileen's passionate desire to raise money for breast cancer research through an original theatrical production. Eileen and the creative team of "Breast in Show" have demonstrated admirable support for Carol in return by terminating their relationship with the Firehouse due to the FTP board's treatment of Carol. I'm still more gratified that Carol, Eileen and other Richmond theater artists are continuing to pursue a future production of "Breast in Show" in Richmond. I admire them all.
Re: “Firehouse Theatre Is Greater Than One”
I just see no useful outcome of descending to their level and assassinating their characters. They still have some power in this situation. Those of us who support Carol have some, too. How do we get past square one?
