Re: “Firehouse Theatre Turns Hose on Itself”
As the former Equity Stage Manager at TheratreVirginia I can tell you form personal experience that the actors in the greater Richmond area are some of the best in the business. All of us have to live somewhere. That is fact. Is an artist less talented just because s/he is local? No. Talent is not born from some magic lake, it is cultivated and molded by years of work. The inner searching to bring a role to life is a long, hard and difficult path, especially the Role of Willy. That character is soooo far from who Joe is at his core that the journey to find Willy within himself took great courage. I have seen Joe on stage and screen for close to 15 years now and I know what a good performance is... It is anytime Joe is on the stage.
