@Aintasaint - I'm really not sure that an opinion comprised of what seems to be entirely secondhand conjecture has much validity in this forum.
While Carol Piersol stands as a pillar of the past, present, and hopefully future Firehouse Theatre Project, the issue is about more than one artistic director. These circumstances are an affront to an entire community of artistic professionals in Richmond who want to continue pushing the envelope, to create and to challenge, and deserve the freedom to do so. The instances presented here send a clear message that the ousters serving on the Board of Directors at the Firehouse are NOT indeed interested in preserving that sacrosanct right, nor in preserving the integrity that helped found the Firehouse in 1993. For shame.

But NONE of this explains why there isn't any apparent transparency between the Board and Carol, in the days before her forced resignation
