Seems clear to me, from the outcry of all the nameles folks above who are so upset by them, that all the personal statements are having the desired effect.

With all due respect, Neutral Observer, there has been meaningful discussion going on now for over a month. Nobody at FTP is listening. So, your "boilerplate" is in response to being ignored by a group of folks who obviously don't care. Our meaningful discussion has evolved into meaningful action aimed at getting so many folks to boycott Firehouse that the place is entirely shut down. After that happens, we can all rebuild it to once again honor the goals and intents of the founders by reinstating Carol Piersol as artistic director. We know that the FTP board is reading this page. So, you see, the "boilerplate" is not for you. It's intended to show the FTP board both our numbers and our solidarity.

I, Marcia Quick Gard, do resolve to not support the Firehouse Theatre Project in any way until the founding artistic director, Carol Piersol is reinstated as artistic director, pending the dissolution of the current board. I will not create work, nor be in the audience, nor donate in or in support of this space until this happens. If you are an artist (supporter, ticket-buyer, donor, student, technician, et al) please join with us in posting this.

Hey Joe Inscoe, I just now got caught-up reading this thread, and I want you to know that not only do I think you're one of the best actors this business has ever known, you are SO well spoken! Your response to Ruth et al was delectably well put and enjoyable to read! Tasteful, to-the-point, appropriately outraged and humorous. In fact, I almost fell out of my chair laughing! Cheers to you, and congrats on such a wonderful run of "-Salesman!"

Um, Dwyer - you obviously are annoyed at something, or else you wouldn't be repeatedly coming back to this thread to complain. Really now, what is there for you to understand that isn't already clear enough? What do you really have against folks who are passionate enough to make personal statements? And they are all personally signed by real people who care a great deal about the issue at hand. Then, strangely, there are those like yourself, who are seemingly insulted because you have to scroll through the statements? Somehow these statements make it inconvenient for you because you must hit the scroll button? What are you REALLY upset about? So what's the big deal to you if our personal statements don't accomplish the goal? We all believe that we're on the right path for achieving what is necessary. You won't convince us otherwise. So tell us please, WHY is it such a bother to you? How is your life so inconvenienced? WHY are you even coming back to this thread? What's the big deal? And until you can tell me that, I don't care what you ask for. But my sympathy for your aggravation and my respect for your ridiculous complaint you will not achieve.
