Let's face it. Without Ralph White, we would not celebrate the James River Park System today. Richmond is one lucky community to have been the recipient of his vision and tenacity. He's one of the greats that didn't leave. For many of us who are older, we see the same battles regarding the river surface over and over again. I hope Phil is right and this incredible treasure that Ralph facilitated and built will remain for-ever as an urban wild oasis. It says something about what citizens prefer when on the same day I see 20 + people walking the Texas Beach trail and only 1 person downtown along the Canal Walk.
