Re: “What Happened to Eric Cantor?

Hey, Jonny - you're not exactly disproving his point there.

Re: “Paste-Up Days

Great writeup about a fascinating topic! Dale Brumfield has done terrific work writing an important, previously untold chapter of Richmond's cultural history. One note: As the current adviser (and former staffer) of The Commonwealth Times, I want to assure Brent Baldwin that the CT is as editorially independent as it ever has been, with no prior review or administrative control, and remains an uncensored, free voice for VCU's students.

Re: “Cuccinelli Declines Gubernatorial Debate

LaCivita would be welcome to arrange the debate he suggests -- that isn't the point, since one like it doesn't exist. The League of Women Voters debate has organized gubernatorial debates for 94 years. Cuccinelli's lack of response indicates a serious lack of manners, and LaCivita's contemptuous one reveals something unfortunate about his character.

Re: “Movie Review: "Lincoln"

Great line, Melton! "The main flaw of Spielberg's latest film is his most persistent one. He can't help reaching for the big scene, even after he's found everything we want in the smaller ones." That's Spielberg's genius and his weakness summed up perfectly.
