Tyler may have been the most interesting person that I ever had the pleasure of knowing. Having worked closely with him years ago we remained good friends and I loved running into him from time to time around the city. He was a gentle giant with a big heart and a passion for Richmond. I will miss him.

Great article. Kudos to Kristen and Kim for shining a light on this issue.

A major problem for RPS continues to be that there are too many small schools. 2 comprehensive high schools and 4 middle schools would be more than sufficient - allow greater access to teaching resources, and reduce costs.

Rev. Campbell, you are incorrect.

I often think of the School Board as a college student that is fortunate enough to have his parents paying his way. They have a clear mutual objective but the student is responsible for setting the "policy" to achieve the objective. In most cases, success is linked to cooperation, respect, and maturity on both sides. Recently, there's been little of that between RPS and City leadership. More is needed.
