the members who refused to vote or who abstained were wrong. Those who voted against Tracey at least had the courage to perform their elected duty. I do not know if he will be appointed to an interim judgeship by the Richmond Bench. My guess is that it is his if he wants it and that if we was not given a formal appointment next year Herring would rehire him. With all of that said after all this the big question is who wants to be a judge? It comes with some prestige and decent retirement but you are not making huge amounts of money. It can be very isolating, any opinions you have about ANYTHING have to be kept to yourself. I think it sounds good in theory and they sure do stress how great it is in law school but in reality, practicing law is the much better job ( no offense to all of you wonderful judges out there, just my little ole opinion that I can have since I do not wear the robe)
