Re: “Blogger Hides 200 “Magic Wands” Across Richmond

Hello, "Reality". Here's YOUR dose of reality: while I think it would be wonderful to name this "The Stay at Home Mom Project"--it would be an honor for any project to be named for these hardworking mothers--Patience is not technically a SAHM; she happens to have work and income outside of her duties as a wife and mother. So your title would be inaccurate, as well as limiting: people from all walks of life participate in Patience's kindness work. A more apt title might be "The Human Being Project"

Your implication that the work, projects, visions, and passions of SAHMS are somehow not as legitimate as their cohorts who work outside the home is saddening, and wrong. And your attempt at insulting and deligitimizing the project by naming it for SAHMS is laughable. Anybody who knows anything would know that surely any project named after SAHMS would be powerful and full of legitimacy and love.

I am going to hope, despite the fact you believe kindness doesn't take people very far, that kindness finds you, and takes you far. Far from condescension and pessimism, far from your "reality", and that you find yourself catapulted into irresistibly kind acts yourself, knowing the joy that comes from doing even the smallest things in the name of kindness. Afterall, as Mother Teresa said, "We can do no great things, only small things with great love." Now wouldn't that be a better "reality"?

Thank you, Patience, for the small--and very real--things you do with great love.
