Re: “Crimes of Expression”
I'd like to commend M. Scharf and M. Williamson: This was a very well written critique on the events of a peaceful demonstration. Whether the intent was to be arrested or not (re: Jeff E), the amount of state funded resources that went into arresting the protesters was over the top -- and this in a time of extreme budget cuts? I can only surmise that the point was to intimidate vs. control unlawful, but peaceful behavior. If not that, then the State must be very very afraid of this gathering of multi-generational men and women wanting to express their opinions, and yes, anger, over big government intrusion on the most basic of human rights. Thank you to the writers for the perspective.
