Re: ““Vulgar” Activists Clash With Pro-Lifers

Women's rights protesters: "angry, hostile, hysterical, vulgar and anti-Christian"?

ANGRY: Yes. We get angry when people are trying to take away our basic right to determine what happens with our own bodies.

HOSTILE: Anger does breed hostility. What do you expect?

HYSTERICAL: This may apply to some of the protesters, I suppose, but most of us are pretty rational, sane people who are simply speaking out to preserve our rights.

VULGAR: Yes, some of us may use language that others find offensive. Deal. We find your attempts to take away our rights offensive.

ANTI-CHRISTIAN: No. Many of the protesters would, in fact, probably identify themselves as Christians. Many others are not Christian, but respect the religious beliefs of Christians so long as Christians do not impose their beliefs on them.

And by the way, we are not "pro-abortion", either. No one enjoys having an abortion; everyone agrees that reducing the number of abortions is a good thing. So let's stop throwing labels around, and work on common goals rather than fighting each other.

Family Foundation: why don't you focus on providing adoption services and childcare and food and housing assistance to women in need who CHOOSE to carry their unplanned pregnancies to term, and leave Planned Parenthood alone so they can continue to provide the health care services that PREVENT unplanned pregnancies? And STOP trying to legislate YOUR morality on the rest of us.

Re: “Mission Aborted

RealityCheck, it IS political. Since when is the government in the position to mandate medical procedures? If the medical establishment determines that an ultrasound is advised before an abortion, fine. That's a medical decision. The government has no place in that decision. Are we going to let the government determine how many x-rays I should get, and make we wait 24 hours to make sure of "informed consent" before having my teeth pulled, too?

Re: “Haze and the Transients

This is an INCORRECT LISTING. I wish that Style would post the listing I had actually submitted.

The show is hosted by K. Haze but is NOT a band performance. It is a singer-songwriter showcase, with 7 individual songwriters performing.

Please see the flier here:
