Good thing spirit sales in Virginia are controlled by the free market and not a government organization.
Glad to hear some private money will be involved in this project, but the city needs to focus this money towards it's failing infrastructure and older schools. This project will not revitalize the area and The Landmark theater seems to bring in good crowds as it stands. A fraction of this project's budget could go towards improving the dilapidated Monroe Park too.
Put the money to use by building better schools which will encourage more families to send their children to Richmond schools, instead of running to the counties.
I was enjoying this editorial up to the point that another Richmond politician threw race into the picture. It was not needed to explain your point. Also, why is asking for an ID to vote racist? Please explain that to me because everyone is equally capable of providing it.
Jones had no right to take the RMA deal without a more thorough discussion.
What kind of sailboat under 12' is worth paying $75/hour to take lessons on when a Sunfish is more than 13'?
I'm in full support of the city finding ways to utilize it's parks, and hope someone is a good fit for this venture.
Re: “Carytown Fresh Market Says No to Food Stamps”
What relevance does the ACLU of Virginia have in speaking about this company? Government handouts aren't a right ,even for those who truly need it, they're a privilege. Let Fresh Market operate how it wants and if you have a problem with it keep your mouth shut and vote with your dollar.
