Re: “The Score 2011”
I am certain that it was on oversight on the part of your journalist to lump Richmond Unite together with the unfavorable decisions made by our city officials. Style Weekly provided generous coverage for our 2011 events and was certainly a positive contributing factor to the great community support that our inaugural endeavor received. The 2011 Richmond Unite project spawned many great changes for the Richmond area. But let's begin by the first creative step - an organization that did not exist 12 months ago, motivated 39 charities to reach out to their patrons and ask for a show of support, which they received by way of 38,000 votes. This same start-up organization put $107,000 into 29 charities, impacting the future of RVA forever through the lives of our children. This type of success does not happen in the absence of creativity.
