The law was enacted in the first place after a very publicized event where a nursing home caught on fire because the "interior designer" was just some guys wife, who picked pretty fabrics and then then something caused a spark lo and behold, they were not fire retardant. the went up in flames quickly and killed a lot of people. True certified interior designers are not your fabrics counter froo froos. They are a highly respected profession with a ton of specialized training, just like, and sometimes even more so.. then an architect. I say lets deregulate the Bar, Architects, and Nursing while your at it. This is ridiculous. I'm not a interior designer but I've worked in engineer and design world for many years, and certification processes are an integral part of the integrity of these professions.
