perhaps the "contentment" is relative. i can tell you from experience that there's plenty of anti-muslim sentiment out there, and a lot of confusion regarding muslim religious beliefs. There are quite a few folks who think all muslims are current or potential terrorists. in any case, the opinion piece wasn't haughty -- i thought it was very touching. it's nice to see someone young keeping up with what's going on in the world (and the county). i also like the fact that he realizes respecting religious rights, doesn't just mean if the people in question are Christians. you come across very defensive -- what are you worried about? Anyway, the criticism wasn't constructive -- don't you feel like a snot for picking on a college kid? actually, decent people doing decent things makes the news all the time -- look at the way people helped their neighbors out during the hurricane.

i couldn't agree more -- well-reasoned and researched. if anything, you were restrained. i am so tired of people trying to legislate morality (theirs).
