Re: “Noisy Throwbacks”
Don is a real reporter and I know that he did not print the address for any malicious reason, nor has Style ever attempted to shut down any club. If the organizers were worried about drawing the attention of CAPS, they should’ve informed bands not to do any interviews. Usually, journalism involves printing facts, not working with the subject to print what they would like—especially someone knowingly running an illegal operation. That’s the PR field, and it worries me if today’s punks don’t know the difference. I understand their anger at losing a venue, but where they should be directing it is toward changing the city regulation that shut them down, or working with the city to make it a viable club for the future. Not attempting to smear a veteran reporter with vague, unfounded accusations—especially a guy who has proven himself to be a staunch supporter of the arts in this town.
