Re: “Remembrance: Donald Edward Dale, 1942-2015

Suzanne, this is a lovely remembrance and so very, very accurate. Don trained me on that massive word processor back in the early 1980s, to help produce some documents for the Museum Theatre. There were three people who shaped my writing through the years, and Don was one. I was lucky enough to be interviewed by him several times ... but the last two were for the Smithsonian Project and for Virginia Voice. We had the BEST time doing them. He will be missed!

Re: “Show Stopper

This whole charade infuriates me. This particular arts administrator knows when something smells bad, and this deal stinks.

Re: “Theaters Ask for $1.75M Bailout

Great. Another story that makes nonprofit performing arts look bad. Let me state this VERY clearly. The theater company I run, Richmond Triangle Players pays its taxes -- real estate, admissions, UBIT and meals/bar. On the rare occasions we have been late we have paid the penalties and interest due. I find it appalling the city would even consider this proposal. Keep racking up the penalties and interest and ask RPAC management to come up with a payment plan, like you would any other constituent. Even to consider passing it on to ticket-holders or to their renters adds insult to injury. Have they ever heard of fund-raising?

Re: “Speed Dreaming

I enjoyed the production far more than Mr. Griset did -- in fact, thought it one of the best stagings of the play that I had ever seen. But I found his question about the Oberon/Puck relationship interesting and provocative and, while it never occurred to me during my viewing, made sense as a question one seeing this particular staging might have. I appreciate his reasoned delve into the question, and even more, Dr. Powell's even-handed, thoughtful and eloquent response.

Re: “Buzzy Strikes Back

I didn't call Bob a tax cheat ... that implication was drawn by another poster.

Re: “Buzzy Strikes Back

Mr. Buffington was treated very badly by a small group of very vocal residents. I hope the case will be resolved by him getting what we really wants -- that license -- and an apology by the children who opposed him.

Re: “Naked Girls Reading at the Richmond Triangle Theater.

"Keep Richmond Clean," I think the ignorance and hatred evident in your post speaks for itself.
