Re: “Richmond Food Community to Organize Benefits After Fire at Church Hill Bakery

Did they not have insurance to cover the rebuilding costs? Also, will the fundraising efforts extend to the displaced residents, and employees who may go without wages, now?

Re: “Food Review: Parkside Cafe

The one time I visited, it was a disaster wrapped in an enigma wrapped in a vest - stuffed into a list of restaurant mistakes of turducken proportions. However - if they can pull it together, it'd be great! The location is fantastic.

Re: “Short Order

I heard that The Belvidere has closed or is closing. Can you confirm (and does anyone know why)? I'm going to miss it. I loved their burgers and their hummus platter was the best I've ever had. Plus, they made some great drinks.

Re: “UPDATED: City Says Avenue Art Must Go

So, if your child draws with chalk on a rock, you get a ticket. If they create art, it can't be displayed in public. When did Richmond start hating creativity so much? Ridiculous.

Exciting news about Camden's! I loved what he did at Cafe Rustica and Avenue 805. SO good! Proof positive that you can be a great chef and not kiss anyone's behind. :)

Re: “The Forgotten Fighters

"Back in the '60s, Monument Avenue almost got a Salvador Dali-designed aluminum statue of Confederate Capt. Sally Tompkins slaying a microbial dragon with a sword. But that's a story for another time."

Oh MAN, I have heard about that and saw a sketch of the planned sculpture. OH how I wish we'd gotten that!
