Re: “First Black Restaurant Week Celebrates Key Contributions to the Local Dining Scene

Richmond Black Restaurant Week generated over $475k in sales and had over 13k patrons that supported throughout the week. The participating restaurants reported anywhere from 25% to 281% increases in sales for this week from normal weeks. Super thankful to Brandon Fox and Style Weekly for featuring this intentional campaign to highlight and support our black owned restaurants. We were also able to raise awareness and fundraise for our non-profit partner, Renew Richmond. The total amount raised will be announced at our RBRW Fundraiser for them next month.

And for the commenters:
*Broad Appetite most definitely does not have all of the black owned restaurants in the city as participants. Why would they? They have a good mix of great food. Y'all are reaching...
*Kelli was referring to some the participating cooks, not all black cooks/chefs.
*The 2nd Street Festival is about celebrating the history of Jackson Ward, the Harlem of the South, sister area to the former black Wall Street. It's not about food, although you can get some great food there.
*And you hide yourselves because you know your views and thoughts are shameful.
*Just come eat some good food next year like we will enjoy next month at Richmond Restaurant Week. We love everyone.

Re: “The New Majority

When Richmond's surrounding counties accept city to county public transportation, that will be an amazing day. All we want to do is work and support our families. I promise you we aren't riding the bus to come hurt you or rob your home.
