I was a volunteer camera operator there for awhile in the early 1990s, and apparently nothing has changed, not even the ficus. But prior to my brief time, the Oregon Hill/musicians/hipster crowd in the 1980s often contributed videos that were almost on the level of "Portlandia." And the station manager at the time would play board games live on the air, with callers assisting with the moves. The problems began when it became just call-in talk shows, two chairs and the ficus.
Impressed by your Anonymous-ness and inability to spell my name when it is right there.
I am excited to see this happening. After several generations of apathetic youth, finally a generation has come that is taking up where mine left off. We staged long and eventually successful protests for civil rights, women's rights, and against the Vietnam War, then our children did nothing to keep the momentum going. These kids need to be politically active, not just as voters, but as candidates. Government is stagnant because of the same group of insiders who run for office. They need to discover ways to get elected without a lot of money or party endorsements. I hope they move their passion out of the parks and onto the ballots.
Sirloin tips are overrated. The meat is grizzly, undercooked. Mushrooms spongy and tasteless. Nasty. Glad I only went for the kid's meal.
My personal run-in with Tri-Angle. http://urban-pigeon.blogspot.com/2011/09/m…
How about some realistic suggestions? These require moving massive buildings to the curb, rebuilding several blocks to create multi-stories, and putting two more parking decks, chain stores and a hotel where? Where is there room? Also, the photo is an optical illusion. In reality the street is not that wide. Although making the Cary Court parking lot into a park with tables and a fountain seems like a good idea. That is a hellish place to park anyway.

I nominate Phil Riggans.
