It's ridiculous to expent any person to NOT practice their trained profession once they leave your employ. How are they supposed to earn a living?
Isn't Diradour supposed to know something about real estate and buildings, being a 'developer'--and he couldn't tell that a wooden sign is blocking tenants' access to the building?
ugh, I'm trying to eat here, "scenester"? How utterly gross.
Good writer, good chef, good intentions, sure. None of that changes the OJECTIVITY required for reviews. And REAL reviewer actually goes to pains to make sure s/he is not known at the restaurant. The existing relationship between reviewer and reviewee permanently damages the credibility of the review.
SOUNDS LIKE A ZONING VIOLATION: "keeping of domestic animals (i.e. - horses, goats, chickens) for non-commercial purposes is allowed, provided that all pens, runs, out-buildings and other facilities for the housing or enclosure of the animals are not less than two-hundred feet (200’) feet from all property lines. This spacing limitation equates approximately with a minimum lot size of one (1) acre."
If the mistaken permit was really the impetus of the removal, it would have been mentioned from the get go. But first, all these other issues were mentioned first as reasons. Councilmember Samuels even stated that the overlap of events WAS the reason (not just his concern). Then when that and the other excuses were not able to hold water, someone who knows the ordinance very well was able to pull out a technical line that prohibits signs in the public right of way. That's BACKWARDS governing, finding an old regulation to suppport your richie constitutent's demand.
Re: “The Perfect Mayor”
The mayor can't help with a regional bus system. Richmond already supports and funds regional transit. It is the zenophobic Supervisors in Chesterfield (mostly) and Henrico must do something to improve regional transit.
