Born and raised outside Richmond, Virginia, Liza has been singing and playing music for about six years now. After losing her brother Peter in a car accident a month before graduating college, Liza found his old guitar one summer day and discovered a hidden talent for music. She began playing and singing Bluegrass and Country music, only to discover a whole new vehicle of expression: writing a song. Bound and determined to learn more, Liza attended Berklee College of Music for a year, and since then has been building a repertoire of original Country and Bluegrass Gospel music. She has been telling her story through song, having recently recorded a cd, How Long Must I Wait, released on April 13th 2011.
The Liza Bance Band is comprised of local Virginia Bluegrass and Country players. Liza on Guitar and Lead Vocal, Gabe Robey on Mandolin and Vocal Harmony, Zachary Hudgins on Bass, Nate Leath on Fiddle, and Jason Wright on Banjo, these players have been playing with Liza for just over a year now, and all come together to help deliver Liza's message as the songwriter to the crowd. Happy listening!
