• HILL YEAH!  It's HOGTOBER time, and we need your support through volunteering to make this BBQ tradition a success again this year. 

    HOGTOBER is one of the Church Hill Association's largest fundraisers.  Proceeds from HOGTOBER will benefit programs and activities in all the Church Hill neighborhoods.  (See note from CHA President below)

    Volunteers Welcome & Needed

    Volunteers will receive a free HOGTOBER volunteer shirt, and two beverage tickets.

    Additionally, volunteers committed by 9/17/12 will have their name listed in a special thank you in the HOGTOBER promotional section of Style Weekly magazine.

  • Please choose your preference for the following volunteer shift, we will make every effort to accommodate your requests. Please select ONLY ONE activity for a shift time. If you are interested in volunteering for more than one shift, please contact president@ChurchHill.org. We will asign you manually.

  • AGAIN, PLEASE SELECT ONLY ONE ASSIGNMENT

  • I. Set Up

  • Volunteers will assist in setting up the festival site and vendor load in. For this assignment you must be able to lift at least 25lbs. and you will be on your feet the entire shift.

    Max. 6 volunteers needed.

  • II. Identification Check

  • Must be at least 21 years of age for this assignment.  Volunteers will check identification and provide a wrist band to attendees that are of legal age to consume alcohol. This assignment requires extended standing for the shift duration.

    Max. 2 volunteers per shift

  • III. Sales: Raffle Tickets and HOGTOBER Merchandise

  • Raffle Ticket & HOGTOBER Merchandise Sales.  Volunteers will approach attendess to sell raffle tickets; as well as man a tent for raffle and merchandise sales.  This position will be responsible for and held accountabile for cash transactions.  Must have strong transaction and reconciliation skills.

    Max. 4 volunteers per shift

  • IV. Sales: BeverageTickets *Must be at least 21 years of age*

  • Beverage Ticket Sales.  Volunteers will be responsible for selling alcohol beverage tickets and checking wrist bands.  This position will be responsible for and held accountabile for cash transactions.  Must have strong transaction and reconciliation skills. Must be at least 21 years of age for this assignment.

    Max. 4 volunteers per shift (CHA Board Members Preferred)

  • V. Beverage Pourer - Beer Trucks *Must be at least 21 years of age*

  • Volunteers will check wrist band, take beverage tickets, and pour beer. This assignment requires that you stand for the duration of the shift. Must be at least 21 years of age.

    Max. 8 per shift

  • VI. Floater

  • Volunteers will be placed as needed the day of the event and may perform multiple duties during their shift.  Be prepared for a multitude of duties from cleaning tables, to changing trash bags, selling raffle tickets, mending barriers and fixing signage, or manning traffic control.

    Max. 3 per shift

  • VI. Traffic Control

  • Volunteers will assist in safely directing traffic and allowing access for approved residential and entertainment vehicles on closed streets. Volunteers can be seated for the majority of this shift. Last shift will need to continue to direct access and traffic until 8:30 when vendors have cleared the park.

    Max. 3 per shift

  • VII. Food Service

  • Volunteers will help plate and serve food along with collect fee. This position will be responsible for and held accountabile for cash transactions.  Must have strong transaction and reconciliation skills.

    Max. 4 per shift

  • Verifications & Signatures

  • I will be 21 years of age or older by October 6, 2012.

  • I will not consume alcohol or be intoxicated during my volunteer shift.
