Perhaps the heavens speak in numbers. Take, for example, 15,000, the estimated flock of congregants at 100-year-old St. Paul's Baptist Church, the megasite of Richmond's worship hour that's presided over by the Rev. Lance Watson. The approximate assessed value of St. Paul property holdings, which span four campuses, is $21 million. Watson has written three books and his sermons are on radio and television. Earlier this year he joined 19 black pastors in a petition criticizing Gov. Bob McDonnell's (No. 6) April Confederate History Month proclamation.
