44. State Sen. Henry Marsh

16th District Virginia Senate Representative

At 76, Henry Marsh isn't as spry as he once was, but the old civil rights lawyer still can throw his weight around. He stood up to fend off a wave of pro-gun bills as chairman of the powerful Courts of Justice Committee and remains as willing as ever to buck yet another conservative governor in Bob McDonnell (No. 6). He also has a direct line to Mayor Jones (No. 7) and has considerable sway in local politics.
