42. Councilman Bruce Tyler
He has great hair. And he’s the only one on City Council who consistently challenges Mayor Dwight Jones (No. 1). During the recent budget negotiations, he got most of the cuts he wanted and his arch nemesis, former Community Planning Director Rachel Flynn, is now in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates working as a consultant. His dream of becoming mayor is probably a little far-fetched, but he’s a thoughtful legislator with growing credibility, perhaps enough to run for statewide office down the road.
