McGuireWoods Chairmen

As a right-leaning prospective candidate for state office, you could choose not to consult with Richard Cullen and Frank Atkinson. Most do, however. These folks are known as winners (See No. 7). When not serving as advisers to the governor, the Republican duo run McGuireWoods, one of Richmond’s most powerful law firms, and the political consulting group that shares its name. Insiders are quick to point out that many of their clients are household names. Rivals are even quicker to remind that some of those come with a lot of baggage, such as Koch Industries.
