31. John B. Adams Jr. and Michael Hughes

Chairman and Creative Directory, respectively of The Martin Agency

In a town that could use more creative leadership, the Martin Agency secures international cachet and Wal-Mart-sized billings for Richmond and was recently named Adweek's Agency of the Year. The company's two-headed leadership team just added a third: John Norman, imported from Amsterdam to share chief creative officer duties with Mike Hughes, who transitions out of the role after a year and remains as president. Hughes was recently inducted into the prestigious One Club's Creative Hall of Fame; John Adams just became rector of the Longwood University Board of Visitors.
