Drawing on 30 years of performance, the University of Richmond’s University Dancers bring the works of local choreographers and educators Larry Keigwin, Norbert de la Cruz, Matthew Thornton and Anne Van Gelder to life for their annual spring concert. The celebration known as @30 includes a diverse group with a dance and lighting collaboration between choreographer Kim Urba, an alumna of the department of theater and dance, and lighting designer Michael Jarrett. Also featured are Johann Stegmeir’s costumes and lights by Maja E. White. Original music and student choreography is included too. From the theatrical witticisms of Keigwin and Company founder Larry Keigwin to the martial-arts-inspired motions of Matthew Thornton, a myriad of flesh and bone kinetics will be expressed in homegrown abundance. The show opens Friday, Feb. 27, at the Alice Jepson Theatre with performances on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $10-$15. Call 289-8980 or visit modlin.richmond.edu.
