3 Issues of Belle (Almost)

After several years of publishing a fashion quarterly in Style Weekly, we realized the time was right to turn it into much more. Our female readers told us they wanted more, too: not only beauty and fashion, but also local personalities, health and fitness, music and books, events, food and entertaining. Ways to spend their time and money wisely. They wanted something that could help them cut through the clutter, a one-stop guide to the things they'd be interested in. And it should be entirely local, they said.

We did our best in creating the full-color, bimonthly Belle. It wasn't easy. We set a narrow launch time of three months. The result debuted as the August/September issue. At 56 pages, it's the most ambitious special-interest publication we've spun off in 25 years. But it's been rewarding. And even those who worried that a "women's magazine" might come off as trivial or full of fluff have realized that such a publication can be done in a smart, fun and sophisticated way.

Our third issue publishes Nov. 21. Tell us what you think.
