Once just a credit card company, Capital One is poised to become the fifth largest bank (based on deposits) in the United States. A shipload of Richmonders — nearly 8,000 — run the company’s inner machinery, and the woman at the helm is Katherine Busser, executive vice president of bank operations. Busser’s also on the board of two influential organizations: the Greater Richmond Chamber and the VCU Health System.
