Originally conceived by Southern Exposure in San Francisco, 1708 Gallery’s fourth annual Monster Drawing Rally is live spectacle featuring 60 local artists. The family-friendly event features each artist working on ghoulish creations in three one-hour shifts with each completed drawing hung on the studio’s walls and available to purchase for $65 immediately after its completion. If you want to join in the fun, there will be a huge chalkboard in the front gallery to create your own monstrosity. Lamplighter Roasting Co. will serve its locally roasted coffee and homemade snacks, and the cash bar will be stocked with different regional, handcrafted brews. The Monster Drawing Rally is Saturday, Dec. 14, at 1708 Gallery from 12:30-5 p.m. Free.
