2. Goldrush, “Touch” 2:50

This time Prabir Mehta means it. “Touch” sounds like Electric Light Orchestra in a domestic disturbance — a cranky piece of vitriol coming from a baroque-rock band normally known for pure pop. “It’s not angry,” bandleader Mehta insists of the song, recorded by Kevin Willoughby, although he acknowledges that it was inspired by a complicated courtship. “Bobby Brown would be proud,” he quips. Goldrush (which includes drummer Gregg Brooks and classical trained musicians Matthew and Treesa Gold) have been busy; the band recently performed music for the silent film, “Battleship Potemkin” at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, and it’s readying a vinyl release for Mad Dragon Records — a collaboration with the band Motion City Soundtrack. goldrushlovesyou.com.
