The Score

-6A 19-year-old dons a fake beard and a sheriff's jacket and tries to get into the library at the University of Richmond, causing a scare and bringing out three police precincts on foot and by air to search for and eventually arrest him. Turns out the guy was just trying to check out "Our Bodies, Ourselves" anonymously.

+3Citing SOL test results, the Virginia Association of School Superintendents names Richmond's Deborah Jewell-Sherman -- who's stepping down in 2009 — as superintendent of the year. Considering the high SOL results, maybe some of the students can step in as schools auditor.

-4As the T-D reports, Richmond Police Chief Rodney Monroe says he's hoping to land the chief's job in Charlotte, N.C., in an interview with that city's NBC affiliate. To explain, he replied, "Nothing against Richmond, but Charlotte is getting the NASCAR Hall of Fame. ..."

+1Students from Maggie Walker Governor's School win second place in a national competition testing their knowledge of the U.S. Constitution and constitutional law. Now if we could just send Justice Scalia to Maggie Walker for a semester.

+5Thousands of walkers and runners join the Susan G. Komen for the Cure in Richmond, raising more than $1 million over the weekend — about 75 percent of which stays in local cancer-related organizations. Who knew that curing cancer could cause so many traffic problems?
