Since opening in 2003, Art Works Gallery has yet to take a break, sponsoring as many as five different exhibits a month. Now the Manchester destination opens its 100th exhibit with a big celebration. This Friday’s reception features prizes, a costume contest, a chance to win $100 and five shows, as well as a video retrospective of all 100 shows at Art Works. The new exhibits include Christaphora Robeers’ “Sky, Sand and Sea,” featuring oil paintings of the Outer Banks, photographs and sculptures by Mark Shively, linocuts and woodcut prints by Charlotte Dauphin (pictured), eco-urban art by Jamie Phillips and hand-built ceramics by Kay Franz. Art Works’ 100th show opens Friday, Oct. 26, and continues through Nov. 18. artworksrichmond.com.
