-3 More than 1,000 fish turn up dead in two neighborhood ponds at Winchester Green. They also were Patriots fans.

0 Politico reports that Newt Gingrich is dropping his legal fight to get a slot on the Republican presidential primary in Virginia. Meanwhile, Gov. Bob McDonnell declares that his 2012 Romney Brown-Nosing Tour is full steam ahead.

-4 The Virginia Senate passes legislation to repeal the one-gun-a-month rule, virtually assuring it'll become law. Coming soon to the West Broad Costco: new EZ-Grab Glock 12-packs!

+1 Martin's Food Markets announces that it's building its first Richmond gas station at its store in the Westpark Shopping Center. Alas, the fuel's still not as good as at Ukrop's.
