-4The young, popular and successful VCU men's basketball coach, Jeff Capel, announces that he's leaving to coach at the University of Oklahoma. It was bound to happen Sooner or later.

-3State lawmakers continue to hang out, doing a little talking, a little listening and a little eating on the taxpayers' tab while the budget stalemate continues. In their defense, it's not easy: They're running out of new restaurants to try.

-3It's official: There is gang activity in Henrico County, as the T-D reports that for the first time gang members are prosecuted as such for violent crimes. And for the first time, it's the city folks who are scared to visit the suburbs.

-1NASCAR Nextel Cup driver Kyle Busch gets a summons for reckless driving in a local KFC parking lot, the T-D reports — after being named a driving-safety spokesman for Virginia high schoolers. He is expected to use the "Greasy Fingers" defense.

+6Speaking of races, thousands of people attend the annual party-infused Strawberry Hill Races at Colonial Downs, where horses and tailgates meet. And in the lead, it's Weekend Sinnin', followed by Sunday Hangover!
